Cannabis and Dizziness

I love cannabis as much as the next guy, and I’m sure if you’re reading this, you probably do too. However, it has to be said that smoking the herb can sometimes deliver some unwanted, negative side effects. One of the side effects I am going to discuss in the following article is dizziness. Here’s a little explanation of how this happens and how to stop it:

Dizziness is a very common side effect of smoking weed, and it isn’t just beginners who experience it either. In severe situations, feeling dizzy can lead to fainting, which, in certain situations, can be a very dangerous thing. However, it may surprise you to know that it isn’t actually, the marijuana that directly makes people feel faint or dizzy. Dizziness is a feeling that is caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure, and it may interest you to know that weed does indeed lower blood pressure, as well as increase the blood flow to the brain, which reduces circulation everywhere else in the body and causes an additional decline in pressure.

You can stop yourself from feeling woozy in a few simple ways. But really, you should try a few different strains to find one that you can smoke without the dizzy sensations. It is true, that feeling dizzy isn’t super dangerous, as long as you don’t faint or hurt yourself as a result, but it can be quite an inconvenience if you’re out or trying to have a good time. The best measures are preventative ones, so if you know you are prone to dizziness, try strains on the more CBD-heavy side of things, as these are known to mediate psychoactive effects.

However, if you do feel dizzy, don’t worry too much. Hydrating yourself and having a little munch on some high-carb foods should sort you right out. Another great thing you can do is to consume some sugar, perhaps in the form of. a fizzy drink or a chocolate bar. Just try to relax as much as possible, and you’ll feel normal in no time.

All in all, dizziness happens to pretty much everyone, no matter their smoking experience, and so it is nothing to be ashamed about. Although, if you suffer from dizziness without smoking any weed at all then you may have another underlying medical issue, so you should definitely, consult your physician if this is the case.
